Spotted Lake - When visiting Osoyoos, it's worth pulling over on highway 3 to take a look at the Spotted Lake. There is a sign by the site indicating that a visitor centre and parking facilities are planned. You can't approach the lake because it is a sacred First Nation site on private land, but you can take photos from the highway. The lake is very concentrated with minerals, especially magnesium, calcium and sodium sulphates, and in the summer months when most of the water evaporates, the minerals appear as large spots which harden and form walkways. The colour of the spots vary according to the minerals
Osoyoos and District Museum: Located at 19 Park Place in Osoyoos, the Osoyoos and District Museum and Archives is a museum that is dedicated to preserving the history and stories of the local area. Opening in 1963, the Osoyoos Museum is running strong today, with tours and interactive exhibits to entertain and educate guests. The Osoyoos Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in Okanagan history!
